GENERAL TRACK RULES

GENERAL RULES: The following are the rules by which we keep Hobbytown Revolution
Raceway a fun, safe and family friendly environment.

No one may consume or be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. You will be asked to leave immediately for the night and not return if you cannot comply.

All drivers must register

All LiPo batteries must be charged in an approved LiPo bag or sack. There is a 160C battery limit for all classes.  Batteries not marked are illegal.

In classes running  12 turn Titan, motor claim rule applies.  You buy a new one from HTO, give the receipt and the new motor in the original un-opened package to the driver and he shall remove his motor on the spot and hand it over, non-compliance may be reported to the RD, and driver not complying will lose race privilege’s for the points night. Claims are done after any runs in the Mains. Must be a competitor in that same class to allow claim rule.

A “Pit mat”/ “Pit towel” must be used on the pit tables.

Please clean up your pit space when you are done racing.

Foul language and bad behavior will not be accepted, please remember that this is a family atmosphere! Please be respectful of your fellow racer.
RACING RULES: Hobbytown Revolution Raceway utilizes DODC rules www.dirtoval.com for our race program. All acceptable motors, batteries and speed controls can be found via those sanctioning bodies. If you have a question or concern, please bring it to the attention
of Hobbytown Oshkosh staff members or the race director.

All qualifiers and mains will be 4 minutes in length, qualifiers should use IFMAR starts.

The use of reverse during a race is prohibited.

Hot Laps will start once all cars are on track, then line-up once instructed by the Race Director.

There will be two minutes between races with an optional 1-minute grace upon
request.

Bodies must use standard body mounts, floating mounts not allowed in any classes.

All classes must maintain a 3/4″ chassis to track height as measured before or after the race.  Bodies can be lower, but anyone dragging repeatedly will be asked to trim up the body or change mounting to eliminate dragging.

All drivers must turn marshal the race immediately following their race. If you are not able, or racing in the next heat, or need to fix your car it is your responsibility to find a substitute not the Race Director.

Turn marshals should not work on or repair cars during a race. Minor issues like popping on a ball cup for a steering link are okay.

Any cars damaged and placed in the infield will remain there until that race is over.

Legal battery (LiPo) voltage is 8.40 volts; any battery measuring over 8.44 is illegal.
If found above, the racer will be allowed to run the battery down to an acceptable
voltage. And not more than 10 degrees above ambient.

All drivers/cars may be subject to random tech inspection immediately preceding or following a race; this is at the discretion of the race director.

AMATEUR CLASS

Amateur-

  • Chassis: 2wd Mass Production Short Course Truck
    No additional weight may be added. The ESC, transponder, and receiver can be mounted anywhere in the main chassis plate area only. Minimum Ride Height: .750″ (including body).
    May use RPM parts for durability
    Shocks & Springs: Any Short Course tuning spring will be allowed. Springs may not be cut or altered from factory in any way. Aluminum shock caps (any color) are allowed. The shock oil or shock travel/length will not be mandated. 2-stage pistons or any modification to the shock piston to tune the compression and rebound separately will not be allowed.
  • Tires: Stock / Street Short Course Tires
  • Motor: Titan 12T
    ESC (Speed Controls): Programed to 50% of Throttle
    ROAR Approved Non-Timing ESCs (BLINKY MODE)
  • Transmitter/Receiver: and servo may be replaced.
  • Batteries: 5000mAh 50C 2S 7.4v LiPo maximum, no shorty.
    Battery must be mounted in the stock center tray location but can be moved forward or back as long as it stays within the stock boundaries of the battery tray. Any plug may be used for the battery to ESC connection. However, direct soldering to the battery will not be allowed
    Body: Any Short Course Designed Body. No added spoilers and/or wings other than provided as part of the original body.

SHORT COURSE LATE MODEL

  • Any 2WD Short Course Truck, chassis and suspension must remain stock, shocks must be stock, springs and oil may be changed. Custom left turn only chassis’s require RD approval(MUST HAVE CENTER MOUNTED BATTERY).
  • Original factory toe blocks, no custom or altered toe blocks, adjustable A-arms are legal. Additional hub carriers can be used 1.5 degree max on hub carrier. No homemade hub carriers.

  • 2oz of total weight allowed.
    1/2 oz total on any combination of arms
    Any remaining weight must be on the chassis.
    No weight hanging off the bumpers or nerf bars.

    Lost weight in Heats/Mains is a DQ.

  • Chassis- Original Factory mounting holes locations only, no drilling additional holes for shocks, A-Arms ect.
  • Must have lexan short course late model body
    • Only Pro-Line Street Fighter, Dynamite Robber tires, and Duratrax bandito, Dynamite Upshot, DE Non-Grooved, Proline HotLap in Clay or Super Soft compound or others as approved by RD.
    • If windows are cut out, must you must run interior deck plate.
  • No Grooving or shaving of the tires.
  • Any Short Course rim.
  • 13.5 brushless
  • Aftermarket ESC must be in “blinky” sportsman mode, no timing advance
  • No drift ESC’s, No Gyro’s No AVC systems
    Speed controls should be of a brand that allows a “stock” or “sportman” profile setting that gives a visual “blinky” indicator to allow easy confirmation. If your ESC does not have a “blinky” mode to show it is in a stock or sportsman setting, please notify the race director with proof and an exception may be allowed. Clarified 1/9/2016
  • Any 6 cell or 2s Lipo hard case.
  • No metal bumpers or body parts allowed
  • Max 3” tall spoilers no wider than body, one fin allowed between end plates, end plate can be no more that 3/4″ taller than spoiler and no more that 3-1/2″ long. As measured from the back most edge going forward.
  • Battery must be placed in stock location
    Slipper Eliminators are allowed, but no locked Diff’s
    Mid or Rear motor chassis configuration allowed for club racing.

Mini Late Model:

Chassis: Mini-T with HackFab Carbon Fiber Chassis
No additional weight may be added. The ESC, transponder, and receiver can
be mounted anywhere in the main chassis plate area only. Minimum Ride

Must have functional gear box
No direct drive style differentials
Stock Truck Suspension. Stock Truck style shocks. Stock springs.
Stock shock mounting holes must be used
No altering mounting holes of any kind.  Tires: Losi BK Bar Tires only
Maximum Tire Diameter 55mm ± 3mm
Any Traction compound is not allowed
Motor: Dynamite 280 size Brushed Motor

ESC (Speed Controls): May be replaced with Hobbywing 1060 ESC (BLINKY
MODE)

Transmitter/Receiver: May be replaced Receiver of choice
Batteries: Dynamite Reaction 2S 20C 7.4v Hardcase LiPo only
o Battery must be mounted in the stock Left sided tray location but can be
moved forward or back as long as it stays within the stock boundaries of the
battery tray. Any plug may be used for the battery to ESC connection.
However, direct soldering to the battery will not be allowed

Sportsman Street Stock:

  • Chassis: 2wd box stock Traxxas Bandit
    • Minimum Ride Height: .750″ (including body).
    • No direct drive style differentials. Slipper Eliminators are allowed.
  • Associated SR 10 will be allowed in stock form and throttle set to 64% (if not using stock radio).
  • Weight: No additional weight may be added.
    • The ESC, transponder, and receiver can be mounted anywhere in the main chassis plate area only.
  • Adjustable turnbuckles (to help minimize tire wear) will be allowed going into 2022 fall season.
  • Shocks & Springs: Any tuning spring by Traxxas will be allowed. Springs may not be cut or altered from factory in any way.
    • Aluminum shock caps (any color) are allowed.
    • The shock oil will not be mandated.
  • Tires: Stock / Street Short Course Tires
  • Motor: 27T Brushed Motor (Locked can Crawler Motor required)
  • Gearing: Maximum 83T Spur – 31T Pinion
  • ESC (Speed Controls): Traxxas XL-5 ESC
  • Transmitter/Receiver: May be replaced.
  • Batteries: 5200mAh 50C 2S 7.4v LiPo maximum
    • Battery must be mounted in the stock center tray location. Any plug may be used for the battery to ESC connection. However, direct soldering to the battery will not be allowed
  • Body: McAllister 1/10 Sportsman Body

Mid-West Modified:

 Chassis: 2wd Mass Production Off-road Buggy
o No additional weight may be added. The ESC, transponder, and receiver can
be mounted anywhere in the main chassis plate area only. Minimum Ride
Height: .750″ (including body).
o Must have functional gear box
o No direct drive style differentials
o Rear Motor or Mid Motor
o Stock Buggy Suspension. Stock buggy style shocks. 1/10th Scale springs.
Shock oil may be changed
o No adjustable a-arms allowed
o Stock shock mounting holes must be used
o No altering mounting holes of any kind.  Shocks & Springs: Any 1/10 Scale spring will be allowed. Springs may not be cut
or altered from factory in any way. The shock oil or shock travel/length will not be
mandated.  Tires: Open tire, no large lug, must be rubber, no foam.

Motor: 17.5 stock rated.

ESC (Speed Controls): Open ESC
Transmitter/Receiver: May be replaced
Batteries: 2S 7.4v LiPo maximum
Body: Any DODOC “style” Midwest Modified Body.

Rear Wheel openings must be cut to a minimum of diameter of the
appropriate tire.
Spoiler max length: 1.5″. Spoiler cannot be wider than center panel. – No
more than (2) spoiler center braces allowed. Center braces can be no larger
than optional spoiler end caps. – End Caps cannot extend past end of Side
Panel. – End Cap Size: Length 2.75″ Height 1.5″. Height is area of End Cap
above the rear deck.

STOCK SHORT COURSE

  • Chassis: 2wd Mass Production Short Course Truck
    Rear Motor or Mid Motor
    Minimum Ride Height: .750″ (including body).
    May use RPM parts for durability
    Weight: 2 ounce maximum, 1/2 ounce on suspension.
    The ESC, transponder, and receiver can be mounted anywhere in the main chassis plate area only.
  • Shocks & Springs: Any Short Course tuning spring will be allowed. Springs may not be cut or altered from factory in any way. Aluminum shock caps (any color) are allowed.   • Tires: Stock / Street Short Course Tires
  • Motor: 17.5T Brushless or 12 Turn Titan
    ESC (Speed Controls): Must be in blinky mode
    Transmitter/Receiver: May be replaced.  Batteries: 2S 7.4v LiPo maximum
    Battery must be mounted in the stock center tray location but can be moved forward or back as long as it stays within the stock boundaries of the battery tray. Any plug may be used for the battery to ESC connection. However, direct soldering to the battery will not be allowed
    Body: Traxxas, Arrma, Team Associated, or Losi Short Course Designed Truck Body.
    No added spoilers and/or wings other than provided as part of the original body.

SPORTSMAN 2WD Slash Street Stock Class  Updated 7/23/22

Must be a street stock car type body. Must cover tires, those removing windows must run decking. No drag car bodies. Must be one piece body.

This class was designed to keep it simple and cheap, but yet provide some fun and exciting Short Course Racing!!!  

Must use stock Traxxas Slash 2wd chassis and components, unmodified, unless otherwise specified. No modifying, replacing, or removing any components unless otherwise specified.

All suspension components must be installed in the proper position and orientation on the car from the factory (EXAMPLE: Left caster block on the left; right block on the right, suspension arms right side up, etc.).

Any color Traxxas Slash aluminum steering bell cranks (#3743), caster blocks (#3632), steering blocks (#3636), camber links, and rear axle carriers (#3652) are allowed

RPM rear carriers (#80382), front steering blocks (#80372), caster blocks (#80712), and front (#80952, #80953, #80955) & rear (#81002, #81003, #81005) bumpers will be allowed. The “hoop” and “ears” on the front bumper may be cut off, however, the main area of the bumper must remain intact (unless you are running a body manufactures front body mount/bumper.

Transmitter/Receiver and servo may be replaced. (Servo saver will also not be a tech item) Traxxas Aluminum Steering Bellcranks (3743A and 3743X)

Locking or modifying the differential in any way will not be allowed. The differential must have normal diff action when rotating one rear tire against the normal compression (resistance) of the motor. No ball diffs.

 NO SWAY BARS

No additional weight may be added. The ESC, transponder, and receiver can be mounted anywhere in the main chassis plate area only.

Minimum Ride Height: .750″ (including body).

Motor, ESC, & Battery:
Must use the stock XL-5 ESC(unaltered) & unaltered Titan 12t 550 brushed motor. Tuning, tweaking, or modifying the motor in any way will not be allowed. The stock (bullet) connectors from the motor to the ESC must also be used. Soldering the connectors together is not allowed.
No cooling fans on the motor or esc.

Battery: OPEN Battery. Max charge of 8.44v and hard case only, no shortys.

Battery must be mounted in the stock center tray location, but can be moved forward or back as long as it stays within the stock boundaries of the battery tray. Any plug may be used for the battery to ESC connection. However, direct soldering to the battery will not be allowed.

 

Tires, Wheels, & Inserts:
Any Stock Traxxas 2wd Slash Wheel and Tire is Allowed
Must use stock Traxxas Slash tires. Choice of: Slash Spec, Kumho Venture, and BF Goodrich treads.  Saturday program only is allowed to run street tread tires.


Front wheels must be on the front and rear wheels on the rears.
19mm offset Front
21.5mm offset rear.
Each wheel must have a minimum of two vent holes.
Altering the inside of the tire in any way will not be allowed. However, gluing or taping the outside of the tire to help prevent traction rolling will be allowed. -Tires cannot be ground down to slicks.. -One foam insert per tire only.

Shocks & Springs:
Any Slash tuning spring by Traxxas will be allowed. Springs may not be cut or altered from factory in any way. Aluminum shock caps (any color) are allowed. The shock oil or shock travel/length will not be mandated. 2-stage pistons or any modification to the shock piston to tune the compression and rebound separately will not be allowed.

If it doesn’t state that you can use or do it to the car it’s NOT ALLOWED!

 -Traxxas LCG chassis kit is legal.

-RPM Transmission case is NOT allowed

-Approved part list: RPM-80712, 80832, 80852, 81002, 81003, 81005, 80902, 80905, 80372, 80382, 80244, 80249, 80599, 73752, 80592, 80595, 80594

-All Brands of Aluminum shock caps that fit on the stock shocks STRC- ST3640S, ST3640BK.

STOCK STREET STOCK

SPORTSMAN 2WD Slash Street Stock Class  Updated 7/23/22

Must be a street stock car type body. Must cover tires, those removing windows must run decking. No drag car bodies. Must be one piece body.

This class was designed to keep it simple and cheap, but yet provide some fun and exciting Short Course Racing!!!  

Must use stock Traxxas Slash 2wd chassis and components, unmodified, unless otherwise specified. No modifying, replacing, or removing any components unless otherwise specified.

All suspension components must be installed in the proper position and orientation on the car from the factory (EXAMPLE: Left caster block on the left; right block on the right, suspension arms right side up, etc.).

Any color Traxxas Slash aluminum steering bell cranks (#3743), caster blocks (#3632), steering blocks (#3636), camber links, and rear axle carriers (#3652) are allowed

RPM rear carriers (#80382), front steering blocks (#80372), caster blocks (#80712), and front (#80952, #80953, #80955) & rear (#81002, #81003, #81005) bumpers will be allowed. The “hoop” and “ears” on the front bumper may be cut off, however, the main area of the bumper must remain intact (unless you are running a body manufactures front body mount/bumper.

Transmitter/Receiver and servo may be replaced. (Servo saver will also not be a tech item) Traxxas Aluminum Steering Bellcranks (3743A and 3743X)

Locking or modifying the differential in any way will not be allowed. The differential must have normal diff action when rotating one rear tire against the normal compression (resistance) of the motor. No ball diffs.

 NO SWAY BARS

No additional weight may be added. The ESC, transponder, and receiver can be mounted anywhere in the main chassis plate area only.

Minimum Ride Height: .750″ (including body).

Motor, ESC, & Battery:
Must use the stock XL-5 ESC(unaltered) & unaltered Titan 12t 550 brushed motor. Tuning, tweaking, or modifying the motor in any way will not be allowed. The stock (bullet) connectors from the motor to the ESC must also be used. Soldering the connectors together is not allowed.
No cooling fans on the motor or esc.

Battery: OPEN Battery. Max charge of 8.44v and hard case only, no shortys.

Tires, Wheels, & Inserts:
Any Stock Traxxas 2wd Slash Wheel and Tire is Allowed
Must use stock Traxxas Slash tires. Choice of: Slash Spec, Kumho Venture, and BF Goodrich treads.  Saturday program only is allowed to run street tread tires.


Front wheels must be on the front and rear wheels on the rears.
19mm offset Front
21.5mm offset rear.
Each wheel must have a minimum of two vent holes.
Altering the inside of the tire in any way will not be allowed. However, gluing or taping the outside of the tire to help prevent traction rolling will be allowed. -Tires cannot be ground down to slicks.. -One foam insert per tire only.

Shocks & Springs:
Any Slash tuning spring by Traxxas will be allowed. Springs may not be cut or altered from factory in any way. Aluminum shock caps (any color) are allowed. The shock oil or shock travel/length will not be mandated. 2-stage pistons or any modification to the shock piston to tune the compression and rebound separately will not be allowed.

If it doesn’t state that you can use or do it to the car it’s NOT ALLOWED!

 -Traxxas LCG chassis kit is legal.

-RPM Transmission case is NOT allowed

  • Original factory toe blocks, no custom or altered toe blocks, adjustable A-arms are legal at this time if set to zero to less than zero for right, left is open). Additional hub carriers can be used 1.5 degree max on hub carrier. No homemade hub carriers.

  • Aftermarket ESC must be in “blinky” sportsman mode, no timing advance

    Speed controls should be of a brand that allows a “stock” or “sportman” profile setting that gives a visual “blinky” indicator to allow easy confirmation.
